@CloudDrifter I just played through that game some weeks ago, was pretty hot, the series was kinda boring though, dunno about manga if there is one

what about mega.co.nz? megaupload is back and better than ever.

@blueyou won't happen because uploading there is apparently too CPU-intensive

So... I ordered 6 anime costing total 230 dollars. But then I notice there are anime with the word S.A.V.E = super amazing value edition, which is for people who are collecting anime and dont wanna break the bank. whats better? blue ray or  S.A.V.E. edition?

milk_jug

@jptran87 blueray if you care about quality.  otherwise save is the same as the DVD releases

@milk_jug @jptran87 hmm.. ok.. i notice some of the older anime isnt out on dvd with subs, are they ever gonna come out on dvd?

BladeCraft
BladeCraft

@jptran87 @BladeCraft @Osiummaster @milk_jug Sorry, afk for a while there. I couldn't find anything for Goshūshō-sama Ninomiya-kun in English but I would recommend a combination of RightStuf, Amazon and Ebay for anime you want. Those 3 are the best.

Also, try going to anime conventions if you have the time. Sellers there can have rare or obscure anime for cheap and many people find some good stuff from time to time.

@jptran87 @milk_jug If an anime never was subbed it probably means either no one was interested in it and it was bad or no one heard of it before

JeeYo

Hey guys,

I'm looking for a new Anime. I like action, combat, not sure how to categorise something like Death Note and I'm open for suggestions on other genre. I'm not really into mecha, comedy or hentai like animes so that's about it. Thank you!

List of anime that I already watched : AfroSamurai, Basilisk, Beserker, Bleach, Black Lagoon, Claymore, Death Note, Dragonball, Ergo Proxy, Fate Zero, Gantz, Ghost, Gungrave, Naruto, Samurai 7, Samurai Champloo Shingeki no Kyojin and finally Sword Art Online. I'm also currently starting One Piece...

@JeeYo So watch elfen lied, deadman wonderland, kiba or kira cant remember (bit soft but its a good watch), katekyo hitman reborn (Took AGES for me to get into it but it is epic in the end, like one piece, that took me ages too), Kenichi worlds greatest disciple (YOU HAVE TO WATCH THIS!), Hunter X Hunter (THIS TOO!) and finally air gear! All those listen are action packed and some of my top animes tbh!

touka

@Kynamite HxH and Kenichi I agree on, rest were pretty average, but that's just my opinion :p

Kynamite
Kynamite

@touka @Kynamite hitman did end epically though, its a shame there were so much fillers, they rest are average tbh but all worth knowing about! Guin Saga too!

@JeeYo Baccano!, Hunter X Hunter 2011, Trigun, Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Code Geass, Redline (movie), BTOOOM!.. I could continue the list forever but I think those are all guaranteed to please you

@touka @JeeYo Best anime of all time is Monster. Has almost no action though. But for people like me who value good character creation and plot more than flashy combat it is by far the best ever made. And most of the thrill in watching it comes from the suspense due to the fact that it is a Psychological Thriller. I also appreciate dark comedy's like Bakemono Gatari.

@JeeYo If you liked Baccano, you should give a try to Durarara ^^

@touka @JeeYo Oh I forgot about Code Geass, it is pretty awesome ;) Well, if u want to go on forever, please be my guess haha!

@touka @JeeYo Mushishi is also one of my favorites. If he likes action anime then he would probably liked Fate/Zero as well.

@JeeYo Well, Rurouni Kenshin is about samurais and it's 10/10 my books but some don't seem to like it that much. If you like One Piece then you will most likely like Fairy Tail as well. Other great ones in my books: Cowboy Bebop, Mushi-shi, Full Metal Panic, Hellsing Ultimate, D.Gray-man.. Saeko actually mentioned some of these while I was typing this text :p

@eSubZero@JeeYoOn wiki, they are talking about a Chaos;Head, should I look at that too? Thank you for the quick answer!

Osiummaster
Osiummaster

@touka @Osiummaster In ep 15 he went back multiple times in a row untill he arrived at the point 2 days before the time machine existed

Osiummaster
Osiummaster

@touka @Osiummaster Anyways episode 15 proves my point. Imma sleep now tell me tomorrow if you find out some reason why it would be possible

touka
touka

@Osiummaster everything else stayed the same though and in the end mayuri ended up dead every time, sec, checking episode 15

Osiummaster
Osiummaster

@touka @Osiummaster This is also not true as he went to completely different places and trieds all sorts of different shit everytime Mayuri died.

Osiummaster
Osiummaster

@touka "Okabe then time leaps two days before the completion of the time leap machine"

touka
touka

@Osiummaster why on earth would they add up to 96 hours? to begin with the memories aren't that different, the things that happen every day go nearly the same way with mayuri ending up dead, also he doesn't go back 48 hours every time but ~3hours

Osiummaster
Osiummaster

@Minollie @Osiummaster If he waits one minute then the capacity loaded over would be 95hours and 59 minutes. As I stated in my review he has to wait 96 hours before being able to go back another 48. He can only travel back in time once to a certain day following the logics this series provided

Minollie
Minollie

@Osiummaster but when he only waits a second more than 48 hours and then goes back again, his past-self has already received his memories from the first time he time-travelled and he doesn't get all the 2x48 hours' memories at once... right? I'm not sure... and Idk how much he waited

Osiummaster
Osiummaster

@touka @Osiummaster The time machine's reason of only being able to travel back 48 hours is because of the amount the original's brain state can manage to change in comparison to the current.

Don't look at the number but look at the reason behind that certain number.

touka
touka

@Osiummaster I also re-watched it some weeks ago but I didn't pay much attention to this stuff which is why I can't be so sure about it. But if we think that the machine can actually handle almost any amount of memories (it's only limited by the time, not the amount), then there should be no problem at all. 48 hours back in time would be possible since the states wouldn't be too different, no matter how many times he's lived the same day.

Osiummaster
Osiummaster

@touka @Osiummaster I wrote this review after the 2nd time I watched steins gate. My internet in tunesia was broke and I had nothing else downloaded at that moment so I rewatched it in  hope to find out new stuff I looked past the first time, which happened a lot in Death Note.

It should be rather accurrate

Osiummaster
Osiummaster

@touka @Osiummaster  "Any further and the two brain states' difference is too large, and it might fail.  " this is the actual scentence you should analyze not the 48H rule. It's not about the direct 48 hours but if you go back 48 hours multiple times the brain state from the current stacks up the memory and it won't be able to merge with the original because he has memories from the same day like 30 times, however even though it's the same day it still takes up a day of memory which means he cannot merge.

touka
touka

@Osiummaster I'm not entirely sure about this though, I need to watch more of it again since I can't remember everything perfectly

touka
touka

@Osiummaster  I think you were making stuff up with Steins;Gate, these are the lines considering the 48 hour rule:

The furthest back you can send data is 48 hours at a time. Any further and the two brain states' difference is too large, and it might fail.

I don't see anything that would prevent you from doing it over and over again as long as you don't do it more than 48 hours at a time D: I think it's just that you can't compress the data enough to send it more than 48 hours back because the size would get too big for the machine to handle, that's the way I understand it at least

Osiummaster
Osiummaster

@BladeCraft @Osiummaster @touka TBH they could really make an awesome anime out of it, they just throw away a lot of the potential for fan art, pedo close ups and bewbs. My biggest dissapointment was probably when they made Yui "normal" sized so that people would actually draw hentai of her or something

touka
touka

@BladeCraft well, although the second half was 8-9 at best it's still a 10/10 for me because the ending and first half were so great

Osiummaster
Osiummaster

@BladeCraft @touka @Osiummaster DN is 10/10, SAO is about 8/10 for me. SAO could have easily gotten a 9.5 or maybe even a 10 but there were like 8 fan art episodes which I really hated and had practically nothing to do with the story.

Osiummaster
Osiummaster

@touka @Osiummaster ye but we all watched death note for L  XP. After that it wasn't really part of the story and the way light actually got beaten was utter bullshit. Still it makes complete sense what they said but it was just gay as hell.

The reason why this doesn't really apply to DN is because you DONT HAVE TO watch after 25. You MUST watch the first 7 episodes of steins gate to get wtf iz goin on

touka
touka

@Osiummaster the way we rate series differs quite a lot though, just because a series has a few boring episodes at starts doesn't make it any less epic for me if the rest of it is good - It's kinda the same you do with DN, saying it ended at 25th episode

BladeCraft
BladeCraft

EDIT: Not shit, but kinda boring in the beginning.

Osiummaster
Osiummaster

@touka @Osiummaster it's just loose pieces not coming together at all and random stories untill they finally reach episode 7 and things start to come together a bit.

I don't say that it doesn't make sense but they should have been able to add some more spice in those episodes though..

touka
touka

@Osiummaster first episode was boring, that I agree on, but the rest are quite interesting

touka
touka

@Osiummaster moment, I'll have to check the episode in which they talk of the 48 hour rule

Osiummaster
Osiummaster

@touka @Osiummaster And that in short is why I don't like steins gate.

The other reasons are because the first 7 episodes were boring as fuck and because he just shows his time machine to everyone like a complete retard.

Osiummaster
Osiummaster

@touka @Osiummaster I am atleast certain he used it more than 2 times in a row at one point which would be physically impossible for him

Osiummaster
Osiummaster

@touka @Osiummaster The point of the 48 hours rule is that his present self merges with his past self, however if he relives the past he still retains the memories he had from the other pasts he merged with. When he goes back after 48 hours he gets the brain of a completely new and fresh okarin instead of the one that he went back as 48 hours ago (You can notice that by him only making a new move as he transferred to the new body, not before that).

This would mean he has 92 hours of memory in 48 hours which is his max capacity of changing, however he goes back in time and forces more capacity on the original which takes him to 140 hours of memory which doesn't make sense at all

touka
touka

@Osiummaster did he even go back in past 2 weeks? I think that mayuri's death was just postponed every time that he undid a message

touka
touka

@Osiummaster it's not hard to get, but I simply don't think it works that way: you go back in time 48 hours, wait for 48 hours to pass, then go back 48 hours again, where's the problem? does he even go back 48 hours, that I can not remember

Osiummaster
Osiummaster

@touka @Osiummaster I wouldn't show a random chick who barely says anything my motherfucking new time machine. Like really? wtf man. But as I said that wasnt even the worst

touka
touka

@Osiummaster if a chick as hot as her asked for your number, wouldn't you give it to her?

Osiummaster
Osiummaster

@touka @Osiummaster That one is a bit harder to get, however for you atleast the part that you can't go back more than 48 hours should make sense, and he went back 2 weeks by doing that like 30 times in a row

Osiummaster
Osiummaster

Also I can't stand him just giving his number to big titty bitch and pretty much everyone who wants to do random shit with it

touka
touka

@Osiummaster >and then has to wait another 92 hours before attemting to memory travel again, because else he won't be able to merge his memories with his past self because they differ too much.

I think you've got that wrong

Osiummaster
Osiummaster

It doesn't just defy the laws of nature, it defies the laws of it's own series which is rather stupidly impressive to do when you write the damn thing

Osiummaster
Osiummaster

@BladeCraft @Osiummaster @touka @eSubZero I'd have given it a 7/8 if the traveling back in time made sense tho. Yet he cannot go back more than 48 hours because else his brain would overload so he just does that 20x in a row which is stupid and makes no sense.

I can't really give a good grade to a series that can't even follow its OWN logics
